Abstract:
Oligosaccharides in therapeutic antibodies play pivotal roles including pharmacological effects such as antibody-dependent cellular and complement-dependent cytotoxicity, pharmacokinetics and safety. Acquisition of the total information on the glycans including the contents of component monosaccharides, oligosaccharide structure, oligosaccharide pattern, and glycan-linked sites and their occupancy about therapeutic antibody is essential for the development of new drug. This review presents a short overview about the trends glycosylation analysis, and describes about the quality control in the development and manufacturing process of therapeutic antibodies.
