Microchip Electrophoresis: Apparatus Preparation, Characteristic Features and Applications

Recent status of microchip electrophoresis (ME) was reviewed, with emphasis on the preparation of apparatus, including micro-machining of chips, hardware for voltage control, and data processing. The advantages of ME were pointed out in comparison with capillary electrophoresis, and a number of applications were presented, in which such advantages were demonstrated.
